Retinol/Vitamin A Cousin – Use at night. If you can use the prescription version, do so - but many people don’t want to be bothered with a prescription and the two listed here are almost as good. This retinol also has vitamin E in a base that will not clog pores and is still compatible with moisturizers and sunscreens. Retinols are another type of repair cream that have science behind them. They build collagen and normalize sun damaged keratinocytes (skin cells). And if this product irritates your skin a little, try applying your moisturizer first, then wait 10-20 minutes, then apply this. You must use a sunscreen every morning if you use a retinoid.

Oily/Acne/Mild Scrub - Best for acne and oily skin. Contains salicylic acid, two alpha hydroxyl acids (glycolic and mandelic) and microbeads which all help to unclog pores and exfoliate. Not irritating.

Oily/Acne – Glycolic gel cleanser designed to be drying and formulated for acne.

Oily/Alpha Hydroxy - This lotion is better than the Ultra Smoothing Cream if your skin is quite oily and acne prone. This light, nongreasy lotion helps keep the skin smooth and to reverse sun damage by building collagen and speeding natural exfoliation. Use a small amount over entire face. Good choice for teens to early 30s. Budget saver.

Oily/Acne Prone - This benzoyl peroxide-based lotion helps to dry up oil, kill the bacteria that aggravate acne, and keep the pores from clogging. Use with a salicylic acid product for optimal results (like the Dermalogica Oil Control Lotion). Sometimes stains pillowcases - best used in the mornings.

Antioxidant/Most Skin Types - In Vitamin Cs the better quality products are 15-20%, contain L-ascorbic acid (not the esters), and are PHd to about 3.0. There are many expensive Vitamin Cs on the market not as good as the two here.

All Types/Scrub - I love this product because it is gentle enough to use 2-3 times a week, effective but not irritating. Contains rice grains. Don't get water inside the container.

Oily/Acne Prone Skin - Men and anyone with oily or acne prone skin love this product. Its hyaluronic acid base adds hydration without any oil. Very light, and still hydrating. What’s not to like!!! One of the best moisturizers on the market for oily skin, in my opinion. Good for use with a Vitamin C serum, and can be used under another moisturizer or sunscreen. I’m looking for a less expensive similar product but haven’t found it yet. If you know of one, write me on the blog!

Daily/Oily/Acne - 9% zinc oxide and 7.5% octinoxate for true broad spectrum protection. Niacinamide to calm and protect sensitive, acne-prone skin. Oil-free, good for sensitive skin. Paraben-free, fragrance-free, and non-comedogenic.
