December 2009 Product of the MonthAntioxidants help prevent oxidative damage to skin cells and their DNA similar to the antioxidants you take internally. Sun, of course, is the biggest culprit when it comes to damaged DNA, so your topical antioxidant acts synergistically with your sunscreen to prevent sun damage to your skin cells from UV light (yes, present even in the winter!). You may be wondering why I am recommending a skin care product this expensive during an economic downturn. I’d rather have you use even one expensive but effective product than a drawer full of products that don’t do much for you. Check out the great customer reviews for this skin care product on SkinCareRx.com.

MoisturizerReplenish Hydrating CreamFall brings dry skin with central heating and dry air. Time for a good moisturizer. The drug store brands, like Cetaphil, CeraVe, and Vanicream are great. And if you want something a bit more elegant, that goes on very creamy but not heavy or oily, this Replenish Hydrating Cream is great. Many of my patients swear by it. It's more expensive than the drugstore brands, but certainly less than the high-end moisturizers. Price: $45.00
