A good result with Botox/Juvederm around the lips but one small problem?Nov 04, 2011 Dr. Irwin, thank you for answering my question regarding the use of Botox and Juvederm to correct the wrinkles above my upper and lower lips and around my mouth. I had the procedure done. The doctor used 1 unit of Botox in 5 points around the top and bottom lip and then filled in the wrinkles with Juvederm. It worked wonderfully and it's 12 hours later and there are no issues with pursuing my lips! I do have, however, a small lump in my upper lip directly in the center. Will this go away?
I'm so glad you had a good result and kudos to you for taking the time to find a good doctor! Sometimes that is the hardest part. If you have a small bump in the middle, it could either be Juvederm or a bruise. In general, waiting one to two weeks (unless something is just awful), is a good idea. The filler will often "mature" over the week and any bruises will almost always be gone in 1-2 weeks. If it's still there after that, be sure to contact your doctor. Good doctor like to fix even small problems! Dr. I |
