Are little white bumps a normal reaction to a salicylic acid peel?

Jul 08, 2011
I got a salycilic acid peel on my face and now I have little white bumps on my cheeks and around my mouth that are very itchy. Is this a normal reaction to a salycilic acid peel?
This is a little tough to answer not knowing how long ago you had it.   If you just had the peel a day or two ago, they could be due to a mild irritant reaction.  Then, bland creams like Cetaphil or a little drugstore hydrocortisone .5% for a few days should help.  If it's been longer than that, you should call the doctor's office where you had the peel. Read my article on chemical peels for more information. Dr. I
