Does the prescription hair reduction cream Vaniqua really work?
Yes it does work. Since it’s prescription and sometimes insurance won’t cover it, it can be expensive. It’s best on the face and inhibits hair growth rather than chemically removing it (like the drugstore products). So…….it’s not irritating.
It’s most useful for those people with a lot of those fine, downey, blondish hairs (called vellus hairs). Lasers don’t work on blond or grey hair because the lasers target the pigment in the hair bulb under the skin.
For those with a fair amount of dark hair on the face, laser hair reduction, is still the best choice over the long term, as it’s more permanent (nothing is truly permanent). For those with just a few grey hairs on the chin, for example, a good electrologist can be fabulous.
