Does the use of botox or dermal fillers have any potential to slow down the deepening of existing wrinkles?
Yes!!!  If the wrinkle is being caused by an over active corrugator muscle (the "frown" muscle), then relaxing the muscle with Botox will not only make the lines improve but also prevents it from worsening.   If the wrinkle is being caused by folding of the skin due to damage to the collagen and skin structure underneath it, then supporting underneath with fillers the wrinkle will prevent it from deepening.  There are other causes too - these are just examples.  A good dermatologist can help you figure out what is causing the wrinkles and how best to address them.  Dr. I
