How does Thermage compare to the Titan?Oct 14, 2011 Can you tell me how Thermage compares with the Titan laser?
The Titan has much less data and experience behind it although it claims to do the same thing. It uses an infrared wavelength (1100-1800 nm) of light instead of radiofrequency (sound waves) to deep heat the collagen in the dermis and to try to stimulate the cells there (fibroblasts) to make more collagen. My position on newer technologies is to avoid them until they have definately been shown to work better, or be safer than an existing technology with a lot of research and experience behind it. Also, even though some of these new technologies may seem cheaper, they are not cheaper if you waste your money or have a complication. I would still vote for Thermage over Titan. Dr. I |
