How much sunscreen for the face is enough?Oct 24, 2011 There is a dermatologist who appears on youtube that has explained that when using a physical only (non-carbon sunscreen) only a pea-sized amount is required for the face (not including neck). He says and demonstrates that this pea-sized amount needs to be dotted all over the face then spread and blended. I had never heard this before and am wondering do you agree?
Not really. If you live in the north, spend all day indoors, and don't spend much time in your car (remember UVA comes through glass), then that might be enough. Otherwise, I would recommend using more than that and, if you spend a lot of time outdoors, I'd probably triple that and use a powder sunscreen, like Colorscience Sunforgettable, over the cream. Why scrimp on sunscreen when it's your most important beauty product? And, it helps to prevent skin cancer! Dr. I |
