Is it possible to predict the success of Thermage?Feb 09, 2010 I am 60 years old. I am considering Thermage on the face and neck. I have droopy eyelids. Will my results be substandard if I don't do the eyes at the same time? Thermage therapy is new at my dermatologist's office. How many procedures should a technician have done before they could be considered competent? I especially want to know how many procedures of the eye before the technician is considered competent? Thanks for your response! Cindy Fouche I guess my first questions is ........did your dermatologist see you and think you would be a good candidate. In my experience, if you have very mild hooding (upper eyelid sagging) and very mild laxity at your jawline, Thermage could be a good choice for you. If you have even a moderate amount of eyelid hooding or sagging at the jawline, my guess is you'll be disappointed with the Thermage. If your goal is to just maintain what you have, you'll probably be happy with the Thermage. Age is a factor in how well Thermage works in my opinion. It tends to be most effective in the 35-60 age group so you're at the upper end of that range now. As for competency, a minimum of 10 to 20 cases would be nice. Find out if the technician has a medical degree. For example, an MA, RN, PA-C, ARNP or in some states, a licensed aesthetician. Also, are they using eyelid shields that go in (not over) the eye while working directly on the eyelids. Dr. I |
