Is the Lumixyl skin lightening product a good one?Feb 13, 2011 Hello:
What are your thoughts on Lumixyl? I've been hearing buzz about it, and interested in skin lightning/brightening. I am fair skinned naturally (light hair/blue eyes), but would like to even out and get my skin as pale porcelain perfect as possible :)
As you know, it contains multiple plant based "lightening" agents. Like the prescription hydroquinones these products don't really "lighten" or "bleach" anything. They work mostly by blocking the ability of your cells (melanocytes) to make more pigment. You may be the perfect person for it because if you truly have moderate or severe pigment problems, it won't be strong enough. For someone like yourself who already has good skin and few pigment issues, using it regularly should help prevent future problems, assuming you are sunscreening every day of course. Unfortunately, if you truly have melasma or a lot of pigment from sun damage or acne, this product is probably not the right one. Lumixyl is better for maintenance. Dr. I |
