Ulthera skin tightening - does it work?Feb 01, 2010 I am interested in your thoughts about the new Ulthera system of skin
tightening?? Is it possible that it can tighten the sagging jowls and neck area? There's not a lot of data on this system but my impression is that it works about as well as Thermage. Which is to say that it works best in patients 30-50 with the expectation of subtle skin tightening. In over 50 patients, in my opinion, both work best as maintenance, done yearly or twice a year, to keep the jawline tight if it's already pretty good. Neither Thermage or Ulthera can help someone who has a lot of sagging or true jowls. Surgery is still the best option for those patients. There is good data that Thermage builds collagen on everyone, regardless of whether there is a visible result. Dr. I |
