What about Tazarac?
Tazarac is a brand, prescription retinoid. It was formulated for acne and teens with oily skin but is sometimes used instead of Renova, generic Retin A (tretinoin), or higher quality retinols which are OTC (non prescription) to treat sun damage and for it’s anti-aging effect.
My bias is that unless you have extremely oily skin, which is rare at age 59, why use this product at all? It tends to be more drying, more irritating, and often more expensive than some of it’s cousins like Renova (moisturizing base), Refissa (a very moisturizing base), or even some of the generic tretinoins formulated in a cream base. It’s the base that matters the most for older, dryer skin and it makes sense to me to pick a version that is less drying. The SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic is good product.
Hope this helps, Dr. I
