I am planning to have a chemical peel when I get back from vacation this summer. After spending a week in the sun (with sunscreen, of course!), will it be just as effective to get a peel then?
Plan peels when you will be out of the sun for at least a month afterwards. Summer is generally not a good time. Also, in general avoid the months around the summer soltice (June 21) when the UVA radiation is the strongest in the northern hemisphere. Your skin thanks you for your sunscreen use! See my
Guide to Microdermabrasion and Light Peels and my
Guide to TCA Peels for more information. Dr. I
