Will Sculptra help with my "smoker's" lines and frown lines?Jun 04, 2011 Hello Dr Irwin,
Your site is amazing. I have lost a lot of weight and this has affected my face, I am getting sculptra done on the 23rd of June, but what really upsets me is my smoker lines over my lips and my frown lines on my forehead can these be treated with sculptra, I know you might take month to answer as you are so busy but as i am being done on the 23rd of June maybe you could answer me before this. I would really appreciate this.
Thank You.
Thank you - I really, really wish I had time to answer all of the great questions you all send me! I'm sad that there's just not enough time in every day. Sculptra is great for certain issues but these are not the ones. Please don't let anyone put Sculptra in your frown lines. It will get lumpy there and the company doesn't recommend it either. Better there is Botox/Dysport, a few drops of Juvederm/Restylane or even better, some of both. Expert injecters only with the Juvederm please. Sculptra should not be used right around or in the lips (bumpy). For your upper lip "smoker's lines." Please tell me you've quit smoking!!! If you haven't, best to quit so you don't waste time and money treating them just to have them come right back. Options for treatment depend on the depth of these wrinkles and include a few tiny drops of Botox/Dysport, various fillers, and several different laser options. Here is more info on mouth and lip issues and how to correct them. Dr. I |
