Dr. Irwin,
Im a big fan of Paula Begoun, and heard of you through her radio show.
I am 20 years old and have accumulated moderate acne scarring. I'm looking for options to treat it and am on the search for a good cosmetic derm. I'm interested in fraxel.
I live in Dallas, Texas, and the nearest (but not near!) doctor on your list is in houston. I was wondering if you have any recommendations for doctors in Dallas with a good reputation, specifically with fraxel or other acne scar treatments. I am actually from dallas, but go to school in Colorado Springs, Colorado. So a doctor in Colorado Springs or nearby cities like Denver is fine too, however, i noticed the one doctor in Denver that you suggest does not offer Fraxel.
I was looking into Dr. Max Adler Park Cities Cosmetic Dermatology. His approach to acne scarring is subcision followed with Fraxel. What do you think of this? His website is here:
It’s hard to know about his specific office but he’s definitely well qualified and experienced. He’s also board certified – a must! I also agree with his approach of subscision followed by Fraxel if the scarring is mild to moderate. You may need a series of 2-3 treatments. If your acne scarring is more severe, subscision followed by a fractionated CO2 laser like the DEKA DOT or Lumenis Active/Deep Fx would be more effective. His office looks like a reasonable choice. Good luck. Dr. I
