I’m a guy working long hours in New York. Which products would be best?

Dear Dr. Irwin - First, let me say you have an incredible website, and I truly appreciate the degree of research, insight, and seeming objectivity that goes into the material here. I have a quick question for you. I am a 32 year old male who works very long hours in New York, and am trying to take the best care of my skin that I can. I noticed you have your own Skin Care Product Regimen online, and was wondering if you would make any changes in these products for a guy. Right now, I use Revive moisturizer w/ SPF, Renova, and Skinceuticals SE ferulic. Happy to adopt your full agenda if you think it would be better. Thanks again!

Hmm –  good question.  First, thank you for the compliment and being a reader!

I would say I would modify it a little, not so much because you are male but because you are working indoors a lot.   If you are working outside, write again!

Consider something like:

AM  –  cleanse, TNS Recovery (cell growth factors) alternating days with the CE Ferrulic (if you’re inside you need less antioxidant generally.   Maybe add more moisture if you are dry since indoor environments tend to be drying, that sunscreen is fine for indoors.  Add something better if you are out more on the weekends.

PM  –  cleanse, like the Renova but again if you are dry, consider more moisture and an eye cream like the SkinCeuticals Eye Balm or A.G.E. since you’re over 30 now.  Also, think about adding a salon or home microdermabrasion once every 2-4 weeks to increase your circulation, unclog pores and to keep your cells turning over.   Dr. I

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes!
