I’m over 50, which skin care products do I need??

Hello Dr. Irwin, I appreciate all of your good advice in your blog. I am a 65 year old female and use all Neocutis skincare products. I am open to try anything you reccomend for someone my age. I am not trying to cut corners.... Just want to do the best I can for myself. Please Reccomended a morning and evening skincare program for me. Also, should I "layer" my products? Thank you so much!!

Here’s what I’m using and then let’s talk about budget options too. Dr. Irwin’s current skin care regimen

The only thing I’ve changed from the above, is the that I’m now using the higher zinc Dermaquest Zinclear Sunscreen (not tinted) on my neck and chest each morning.  Weirdly, we’ve had a very sunny, warm winter and spring here in Seattle.   We just haven’t been in scarves and turtlenecks very much –  and no skiing. ):

For budget options, try sub out the Eminence cleanser and moisturizer and use something like the drugstore Cetaphil or Cerave lotion cleansers and moisturizers.   Spend the money on your antioxidants, good hi-zinc sunscreens and your retinoid at night like the Renova or retinol over the counter.

Hope this helps,  Dr. I

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes! I have handpicked some of what I consider to be the best skin care products, and offer them for sale on SkinTour's shop. This is based on my team and I's testing and research at our clinic. Many of the products are in my own regimen. What could be better than using skin care products a dermatologist uses?!
