Is there a good product for undereye dark circles and puffiness?

Doctor Irwin, what is your feeling on Exuviance Age Reverse eye cream, I am using Renova and skin medica and skinceuticals and I have used A.G.E under my eyes but it doesn't seem to help dark circles and puffiness. Even the plastic surgeon said that the fat under the eye and the lid can be removed but the dark circles cannot be guaranteed. So I am also going to ask if there is a fabulous eye concealer that doesn't settle into the wrinkles under the eyes. There are so many products out there and I totally trust your judgement. I know not every product works for every person, but if you know of something special I would be so greatful. Thank you again for helping us all with your wealth of information and caring. Arleene

Thank you!!  I really appreciate you reading also.   This is a tough one but there are some options.  Also, I love that plastic surgeon – he was very honest and not all are.

There’s no true cure for these and the puffiness seems to really very for most.  Here’s a link to a post I did on how to control puffiness.    Scroll down and see the Dec 13, 2013 post.

Product wise are three things to try:

  • Step 1 – A great base eyelid moisturizer like the Lumiere Riche.
  • Step 2  – For a great base concealer try the MAC Mineralize Concealer (but don’t buy this on the web – they need to color match you the first time) AND apply it with MAC brush 188 (not the usual one they recommend for eyes  – but better.)  Spot it on with the concealer brush over the whole eye area, blend a little with fingers and then blend with the brush over the whole area
  • Step 3 correct the dark circle with this Colorescience Mineral product –  comes with a good brush – it also can cover red or brown acne spots, bruises, etc.

Also, consider trying this Jenu product for the puffiness –  not perfect but it helps.

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes! I have handpicked some of what I consider to be the best skin care products, and offer them for sale on SkinTour's shop. This is based on my team and I's testing and research at our clinic. Many of the products are in my own regimen. What could be better than using skin care products a dermatologist uses?!
