Summer Lips
Summer vacations remind me how vulnerable our lips are to sun and wind.
Lips have even less natural protection from the sun than the rest of our skin. That’s one reason why the area on and around the lips is such common place for skin cancers.
But we also want to preserve the appearance of our lips. And the sun causes our lips to wrinkle, increases upper lip lines, and can fade out the pigmented border of the lips (vermillion border).
Use sunscreen to protect your lips! There are lots of good ones. Bobbi Brown has nice lipsticks in a chapstick sized tube in great colors that are SPF 15. I recommend a few on SkinTour also, like the Jane Iredale Lip Drink, a good Vanicream lip protectant, and for sports, a Fallene CoTZ lip product.
