Hello Dr. Irwin, I use skin medica ( luv it)...What do you think of the Hydrating Complex.. I don't use fillers but would this work as well on top of the skin. Thank you
For dryness or very fine lines, use a great moisturizer - the SkinMedica one is good.   For true wrinkles, no cream will be able to compare to a filler at this point in time.  The... more

I'm 28 years-old and have battled eczema since birth, mostly on my hands, the crook of my elbows, and behind my knees. Within the past few years, the eczema has appeared on my face, neck, and ears. I've been using a hydrocortisone cream, which helps a lot, but I'm worried about the long-term consequences of using such a product several times a day, especially on my face. Is there a cortisone-free product (OTC or Rx) that will do the job? Also, I'm wondering if my shampoo could be causing/exacerbating my facial eczema. I've heard sodium lauryl sulfates are rather sketchy. Is there a SLS-free shampoo you recommend? Thanks!!!

You didn't tell me if you've been seeing a dermatologist?   Please, please, please  get thee to one right away if you haven't.  And yes, over time, the chronic steriod use (even... more

Dear Dr. Irwin: My 16 year old daughter is starting to have acne problems on her face which includes alot of very tiny pimples on her forehead and sometimes larger pimples on her nose. She also has very bad kitosis on the backs of her arms. A dermatologist gave her slayic acid lotion for the arms. Im afraid to let her use it becuase she had the flu shot. Is this safe to use? There is no history of either of these problems in our family. What foods should she eat to improve the condition of her skin and what do you recommend that she use on her forehead and arms? Thank you. Marci
