The problem of itching!

I have been scratching for 4 months now an my legs are getting pretty Beat Up. I have been taking Benadryl, an hydrocortisone, every night, but Nothing seems to work. Thanks for your help 😢 My doctor doesn't know what else to do... My whole body is itching..

All of us have itchy spots sometimes.  That totally normal!   And, those mosquito bites, flea bites and other summer bites – itch.    So for most of us, a little hydrocortisone 1%, with some calamine lotion and benadryl can be very helpful.   These are usually gone in a week or so.  If not, see your doctor.

Then, there are the allergy issues and hives which may need the attention of a doctor.   Some people are so sensitive/allergic to nickel, for example, that even a small amount in a multivitamin can cause a problem.  There are many others including plants.   Different types of eczema tend to track with the gene that codes for allergies, asthma and hayfever.  Please see an allergist.

Then though………there is whole body, intractiable itching that goes on for a long time.   You must go to see your doctor if you have this.  There are many causes – too many to mention them all here –  serious internal problems that can cause itching…..like thyroid problems, certain cancers, some kidney problems, certain medications……etc.   You see my point I know!

Hope this helps,  Dr. I

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes! I have handpicked some of what I consider to be the best skin care products, and offer them for sale on SkinTour's shop. This is based on my team and I's testing and research at our clinic. Many of the products are in my own regimen. What could be better than using skin care products a dermatologist uses?!
