Wedding panic! Why does the Botox around my eyes look so weird and what can I do?

Dear Doc, I had a total of 12 units of botox injected on the sides and below my eyes and i now have deep sunken eyes with wrinkels under eyes. It looks horrible when i smile. I wanted to have a beautiful smile on my wedding and now i look like scary. My wedding is just a weeks away, yes i was so foolish to do this 2 weeks before my wedding persuaded by a friend who had a great result. I feel shattered and scared to smile. Please help me what should i do?

Dear Readers and Friends:

PROMISE ME –  please promise me that none of you will ever try something new in the injectible or laser realm in the weeks before your wedding or a big event.   It’s just too risky if it doesn’t go well.    I’m sad that this happened to you.   Here are some ideas to at least make it a little easier to get through this.

  1. It’s the Botox/Dysport UNDER the eye – not on the sides that usually causes this.   Can the doctor adjust the sides a little to make it a little better.   This may not help if you are not seeing much muscle action there at all;
  2. See a great makeup artist in your area who can help you cover/camoflauge this.  This can work wonders in some cases;
  3. Consider buying the Jenu and really super hydrating the skin around the eye –  it may help;
  4. In my opinion, 2 weeks away is too close and risky to try to use filler to lift the hollow space.  If you bruise there, it could last for 2 weeks;
  5. Make sure your photographer is good, knows about the problem and can airbrush it out of your photos;
  6. Remember………we are so hard on ourselves…… may be that no one else notices this… act confidently and you can carry it off!
  7. It’s one of the many special days you will have in your life so try to keep it in perspective;
  8. TAKE NO SELFIES –  between now and then.  🙂

Hope this helps,  Dr. I

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes!
