What are these red and brown spots on my legs?

Dear Dr. Irwin, I am 54 years old and in menopause. The past 4 years I have brown spots on both legs below the knee. I get more and more usually starting as red botches and then turning brown, in all sizes. What can I do? Grateful for your help. Regards Ruth Sternberg Gothenburg, Sweden

Dear Ruth:

Do you have a dermatologist nearby?  I think it would be good for you to see one.  What you’re describing sounds like something called Schamberg’s disease but it’s absolutely impossible to know without seeing you.  Please see your doctor!   Dr. I

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes!
