What should I use post work out on my skin?

Dr. Irwin, what products and routine would you suggest for post workout facial skin? I already do my skincare routine in the morning and night but have always thought it was bad for my dry skin to wash 3 times a day. I want to keep my skin clear without drying my face out. Thank you, David

Glad you asked this and it depends somewhat on what time of day you work out.    You don’t need to reapply the sunscreen if you work out late in the day or when it’s dark clearly.

As for washing, just rinse your face after exercise without any cleanser (unless you are super oily).  You’re right, washing too much will dry you out.   You can just rinse, reapply a little moisturizer appropriate for your skin type and sunscreen after that, if needed.  Moisturizers.

One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes!
