When to plan a peel?

I am planning to have a chemical peel when I get back from vacation this summer. After spending a week in the sun (with sunscreen, of course!), will it be just as effective to get a peel then?

Plan peels when you will be out of the sun for at least a month afterwards.  Summer is generally not a good time. Also, in general avoid the months around the summer soltice (June 21) when the UVA radiation is the strongest in the northern hemisphere.  Your skin thanks you for your sunscreen use!  See my Guide to Microdermabrasion and Light Peels and my Guide to TCA Peels for more information.  Dr. I

One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes!
