Chlorine in Your Hair?Jun 02, 2009
Too much time in the swimming pool?
If you can, swim in a lake or ocean, and then you won't have the chlorine issues!! If your only choice is a pool, here's how to deal with your hair. Before you get in the pool, get your hair wet with fresh water to saturate the strands and then apply a thick conditioner with a sunscreen in it. A drugstore brand is fine, like California Baby Swimmer's Defense Hair Conditioner (about $12.50 for 8.5 ozs at drugstore.com). If you can, put a swim cap on, it really helps to protect your hair color. But if a swim cap is just too dorky, at least tie your hair up securely. When you get out of the pool, use a chlorine removing shampoo and conditioner again. For your skin, just rinse off and moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!!! See Dr. I's Moisturizer Recommendations |
