Home Use Laser Devices

Aug 26, 2011

I recently had a blog question about home use laser devices.  We are going to see more of these home ("laser-like") devices marketed over the next few years.   In my opinion, most of these (even all?) so far are not worth the money you will spend on them.

Here's why.  First these devices are so underpowered as to be virtually useless.  Proponents argue that delivering a small amount of energy daily over time may have beneficial effects.  That is possible, but every study I've seen is sponsored by the company and the results not impressive.  The real question is - do these devices make a difference visible to the human eye over time.   Possibly - but it's a lot of money to spend for possibly.

Here's the other problem. It is difficult for most of us - especially busy people - to do something every day when we don't see much difference.  Many people buy these devices and after a week or two they sit in the drawer!
