Sun and IPL (Photorejuvenation)

Apr 15, 2011

Generally, if you're outdoors a lot in the summer, save your IPL (photorejuvenation) treatments for brown spots for Sept-May.

If you're doing it mostly for red areas, rosacea, or enlarged capillaries, than it doesn't matter as much. If you have lighter skin, the risk during the summer isn't much different as long as you sunscreen. If you have darker skin, save your treatments for fall, winter - your risk of a (usually) temporary increase in pigment (hyperpigmentation) is greater.
