Travel Series - Protecting Your HandsOct 29, 2009
This week I'm starting a 4 or 5 part series on travel and your skin. How to protect it while you travel, from rashes, allergic problems, infections, dryness, etc.
To keep your hands from drying and cracking on long plane flights (especially if you have a history of eczema), bring your own travel size bottle of Cetaphil cleansing lotion in your carry-on, along with your favorite moisturizer. Use the Cetaphil cleanser instead of the harsh airline soaps and immediately apply a thick layer of moisturizer. Try to avoid antibacterial soaps and towelettes with chemicals in them if you have a history of hand eczema or dryness. Check out this tried and true moisturizer that is the SkinTour Product of the Month for November. These Eminence organic products are pretty expensive, but they are very good and smell wonderful: For normal skin, the Eminence Sugar Plum Whip Moisturizer, the Sugar Plum Oil-Free Revitalizer, and others. For very dry and mature skin, the Eminence Blueberry Soy Cream. |
