Hair Loss

This is a problem many women face at various times in our lives.  Some women who’ve had children remember the sudden fall out of hair (telogen effluvium) after delivery.

Many people don’t realize that dermatologists are trained specialists in skin, hair, and nails.  We do evaluations for hair loss.  There are many causes for hair loss that are treatable so don’t just assume it’s your genes if hair loss starts, especially before age 60.  For example, low total body iron stores (measured by a ferritin not serum iron) are strongly correlated with hair thinning.  See your dermatologist if your hair is thinning and you’re not sure why.

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes!
