Eyebrow Lift with Upper Eyelid Surgery?
In my opinion, getting an eyebrow lift with upper eyelid surgery is almost always a waste of money, and sometimes causes problems. For some reason, plastic surgeons often recommend these when they are consulted about upper eyelid surgery (blepheroplasty or bleph for short).
Here are the problems with the eyebrow lift. If the surgeon overdoes it, you have that chronically surprised look that is so unpleasant. Sometimes they can’t get the eyebrows quite even. If they underdo it, you can’t tell you had anything done and paid a fair amount extra for it. If they get it just perfect, which occasionally happens, it often seems to not last long – often not even 5 years. Also, I have seen problems with the scars (usually hidden in the hair) with bald patches that sometime develop around the scars.
Overall, my recommendation is to get the upper eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) done, if needed. You can always approach the surgeon later if you really want that brow lift. Most of the time, patients are happy just with the eyelid surgery alone.
