Dermapen treatment results not good. The importance of skin REST.

Please HELP!! I have had two Dermapen treatments on my face and around my mouth and chin. I now have more and deeper wrinkles on my cheeks and very deep lines around my mouth and chin. I had a negative reaction and it seems like the lines are getting deeper daily. This procedure has seemed to bring out more wrinkles. I am very upset and do not know what to do at this point. Thank you.

As many of you know, I’m not a fan of Dermapen treatments because often they are done in salons and not under the supervision of a board certified dermatologist.   Also, treatment results can vary greatly.

You don’t tell me how long ago the treatment was but it’s very human to try to “fix” it by using tons of different products that end up just being irritating.  I’m assuming you’ve seen your doctor and are getting help from him/her.

But generally an entire month of SKIN REST may be very helpful.    Skin rest is just a gentle cleanser, preferably organic, a good moisturizer with a zinc (5-10%) sunscreen over that in the morning and in the evening just the gentle cleanser and a ton of moisturizer.    Often this simple regimen allows the skin’s own repair mechanisms to work and repair the problem itself.

Also get lots of sleep and eat healthily.

Let me know how you do,

Dr. I

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes! I have handpicked some of what I consider to be the best skin care products, and offer them for sale on SkinTour's shop. This is based on my team and I's testing and research at our clinic. Many of the products are in my own regimen. What could be better than using skin care products a dermatologist uses?!
