Do you have to wait until filler wears off completely before repeating it?

Hello Dr. Irwin, With Juvederm, do I have to wait till the products is all gone to have it done again (around my nose and mouth) or can i get it done (maintain it) when I start to see some deflation? Don't like the look when it wears off complete and have to wait I guess.. I get use to my better face until the old one comes back lol..Ty :)

No, in fact I think it’s better to schedule your next treatment prior to it’s complete resolution.  If you do that, you’ll gradually build more of a base and your results will keep improving.  Fillers often begin to last slightly longer over time.  Could there be some slight natural collagen induction just from the needle?  Hard to prove.

A common scenario in our office is to schedule the first Juvederm follow up appointment at 4 months, then go 4 1/2 or 5 months and then even a little longer like 6-9 months.  This depends somewhat on your age and particular anatomy.  The older you are the more frequent treatments you are likely to need.  Here is my article on Fillers in Depth so you can learn more about them.   Hope this helps!  Dr. I

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes! I have handpicked some of what I consider to be the best skin care products, and offer them for sale on SkinTour's shop. This is based on my team and I's testing and research at our clinic. Many of the products are in my own regimen. What could be better than using skin care products a dermatologist uses?!
