Fixes for crepey skin under the eyes.

Hi Dr. Irwin. I have tried botox for my crows feet and it works beautifully, but under the eyes right above my cheeks I have crepey thin skin, The horizontal crepiness looks terrible. I was interested in what options you might recommend for this fragile skin area, that would make a big impact.

Your right, of course, Botox doesn’t help under the eye for that thin, crepey skin.  The best option, in my opinion, is to use either the Fraxel laser (the 1550 not the Dual 1927) or even better, the fractionated CO2 laser for this.  Expect about 3-5 days of downtime depending on the settings. Make sure you specifically discuss this with your doctor ahead of time so there’s no misunderstanding about when you need to be back at work/activities.

Also optimize your eye products with a good eye cream and a gentle retinoid eye cream for faster healing.  Also, consider themJenu – it helps to build collagen and keep the under eye area well hydrated.

Hope this helps,  Dr. I

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes! I have handpicked some of what I consider to be the best skin care products, and offer them for sale on SkinTour's shop. This is based on my team and I's testing and research at our clinic. Many of the products are in my own regimen. What could be better than using skin care products a dermatologist uses?!
