Irregular periods, hyperpigmentation and facial hair – are these linked?

hello dr irwin i am a ashian women and i have a irregular perioed problem and i have a issue for hyperpigmentation and facial hair i like to treat both so which treatment is best for me and what should i do i like to know.thanks and my age is 45 year and i almost menopause phase.

I’m so happy that you wrote because this is not a rare problem. I’d like to steer you to information and research on something called polycystic ovary disease which can cause a similar constellation of symptoms.

I can’t possibly know if this is the case for you as an individual but this is what I would ask you doctor or gynecologist about and perhaps do some research on the web as well. Just be careful about sources. The major gynecology sites would be a good place to start.

As for treating pigmentation, my guide to understanding pigment problems is a good place to start.

Good luck to you!

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes! I have handpicked some of what I consider to be the best skin care products, and offer them for sale on SkinTour's shop. This is based on my team and I's testing and research at our clinic. Many of the products are in my own regimen. What could be better than using skin care products a dermatologist uses?!
