Problems with being overfilled with Scuptra.

Hi I'm Lisa age 31 I had 2 sessions of sculptra 2 vials each session about a year ago. My cheeks are very over filled. Will this volume reduce in time? Thanks.

Lisa –  I see this more with HAs like Juvederm, Voluma, Restylane etc., but it can definately happen with Sculptra if too much was used.  

I’m wondering if your doctor waited a full 8-12 weeks between the two sessions?   Since it takes 8-12 weeks to see the full result, it doesn’t make sense to me to inject at closer intervals unless you are 50 or over.   Then it may make sense to do the first 2 treatment sessions a little closer together and then wait a full 8-12 weeks before possibly doing a third treatment session.  Hope that makes sense.

Younger patients like you tend to make more collagen (your cells are more active)  to Sculptra…….. so doing less and waiting longer in between the first 2 treatments seems logical, in my opinion.

To reassure you, this will gradually reduce.  The product lasts about 2 years so you should start seeing a gradual reduction soon.
