Really, really dry skin on the legs!!

Hi Dr. Irwin, I have a problem with dry skin on my legs which always appear lack luster, and small fine lines. I have tried everything, nothing seems to help. How can I treat this problem.may

Hello May, there’s actually a gene that is fairly common that causes this skin problem. The medical term for it is Ichthyosis Vulgaris and is an old, old name that means like fish scales. Who thought of some of these names anyway?? 🙂

Most of the time, regular skin lotions don’t make much difference for this problem. This SkinCeuticals Body Retexturing Treatment really works. You might want to also try Amlactin or Lachydrin? These are both over the counter skin lotions that have some extra ingredients that help with this very dry skin. Use them for at least 1 month before you decide if they are working.

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes! I have handpicked some of what I consider to be the best skin care products, and offer them for sale on SkinTour's shop. This is based on my team and I's testing and research at our clinic. Many of the products are in my own regimen. What could be better than using skin care products a dermatologist uses?!
