Rodan & Fields, Veradex E Ointment and on and on…….

Hi again my skin Guru. I went to a new esthetician and she said that Veradex e ointment is her miracle. She hasn't used it on me yet, but I was wondering what a vitamin e ointment can do for mature skin. I also found Grandma El's e ointment that seems to be the exact same ingredients but there is no comparison in price. The Grandma El's is marketed for diaper rash and the Veradex isn't. Have you heard of either of these products and is there any place in a beauty regimen for them? Thanks Arleene

Okay –  let’s be real.    Seems like every day there’s a new product or product line claiming to be the new miracle.   And……….have you ever noticed at how quickly many of these products and sometimes entire companies disappear?     It’s because there’s a whole segment of the industry out there devoted to “hope in a jar.”  The R&F products tend to be solid, but usually nothing truly new or special.

Marketers know that many …… millions….of women/men will try something once, so outrageous, unsubstantiated claims are made, but the results are underwhelming to say the least.    But…………in the meantime they’ve made how many millions of dollars with questionable claims and products???   I don’t see an end to it any time soon because we’re human and ……..we keep hoping and we like to try things.

My vote is to stop trying these products unless there’s a trusted source, some evidence or a general consensus.   The reason Botox/Dysport is so popular is because it works!   Here’s a great regimen that’s not sexy…….but it works.

Hope this helps,  Dr. I

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes! I have handpicked some of what I consider to be the best skin care products, and offer them for sale on SkinTour's shop. This is based on my team and I's testing and research at our clinic. Many of the products are in my own regimen. What could be better than using skin care products a dermatologist uses?!
