Sculptra and long term results.

I had the sculptra filler 3 years ago in one side of my face, it worked great but now the portion where it was injected looks really sunken in. Is this a normal reaction? Thank You!

Okay –  I’m glad you asked this because it’s important.    Your face WAS fuller with the Sculptra there.   Now that the Sculptra is gone, you perceive accurately that it’s less full –  so it looks sunken to you.    When your eye has adjusted to one volume in your face, changes seem more distressing for sure!    But………….Sculptra didn’t cause that –  it’s just a recurrence of your normal aging process.

This brings me to the second point  –  MAINTENANCE!    Sculptra technically lasts two years but you need a maintenance treatment about once a year.   Why?    It’s because you want stability in your facial volume as you age.   You DON’T want your face going from full to empty and then back again.    Thus an approximately yearly maintenance treatment with usually 2-3 vials is needed.

Hope this helps,  Dr. I

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes! I have handpicked some of what I consider to be the best skin care products, and offer them for sale on SkinTour's shop. This is based on my team and I's testing and research at our clinic. Many of the products are in my own regimen. What could be better than using skin care products a dermatologist uses?!
