What is a good body cleanser for dry, itchy, winter skin?

Happy New Year Dr. Irwin and Team! Your blogs have been extremely helpful, and in general, your skinTour website is chock full of great information. Thank you for your unbiased, and scientifically sound advice / recommendations. What I want to know is if there are any body cleansers that you recommend that don't irritate the skin. I have sensitive skin and as soon as the weather changes, either cold or hot, I find my skin reactive. Itchy and red in the winter and oily in the summer. Are there any good body cleansers out there that you would recommend? Thank you, Karen Pacocha

You are so welcome Karen!  Okay…….. you’re going to laugh but……I don’t recommend that you use soap or cleanser on your body if you’re dry.   Just soap your armpits, groin, and face and use plain water on the rest.  You’ll find that preserves your natural body oils and you’re still clean!   If you’ve been rolling in the mud on a soccor field, it’s a different story of course.  Most of us over soap and all it does is dry us out.   If you must use something, try to Free & Clear Cleanser or the CeraVe Cleanser.   Dr. I

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes! I have handpicked some of what I consider to be the best skin care products, and offer them for sale on SkinTour's shop. This is based on my team and I's testing and research at our clinic. Many of the products are in my own regimen. What could be better than using skin care products a dermatologist uses?!
