What’s the best skin care at age 23?

Hi Dr Irwin! I am 23 years old and have good skin, but am wondering what products I should be using to keep it healthy. I have really fair skin and sunscreen is my best friend, so I already have that covered. I currently use Cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer. Are there better quality products I should be using to prevent my skin from aging? Thanks!!!

I love that you’re thinking about this because it’s so much easier to prevent wrinkles, blotchiness, sagging etc. than it is to prevent it! And, I love that you are using sunscreen on your face daily.

Some things to think about.  With your sunscreen, make sure it contains at least 5-10% zinc or titanium or 3% avobenzone or mexoryl so you have good UVA coverage. Also, try to include your neck, chest, and hands in your daily use.

Your cleanser and moisturizer are fine with the Cetaphil. Consider adding a good antioxidant in the morning under your sunscreen like the SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF gel (new and much easier to use than the serums).      Dr. I

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes! I have handpicked some of what I consider to be the best skin care products, and offer them for sale on SkinTour's shop. This is based on my team and I's testing and research at our clinic. Many of the products are in my own regimen. What could be better than using skin care products a dermatologist uses?!
