Skin food habits to save your skin during the holidays!

There are so many tempting treats and drinks around the holidays! It’s easy to overdo it, making your skin pay for it afterwards. Here are some easy ways to make skin smart decisions even during the season of functions and holiday parties! Here are 4 skin food habits to remember:
  • Prefunction (think pregame) with half a small avocado. These have good oils for your skin, and you won’t eat as much junk or drink as much after having one.
  • Before a holiday party or dinner, drink 3 glasses of water. This will help you to avoid over-drinking liquor or sweet drinks during the party because of thirst. And the water helps rehydrate if you are drinking.
  • Drink one glass of water for every glass of alcohol and you’ll get rid of the extra salt in party food faster.
  • These foods make you and your skin bloat, so avoid overdoing these: Refined sugars, floury stuff like pastries or breads, and salt. If you have a choice, go for the lean meats/tofu, and anything with mostly veggies and fresh fruit.

Bonus tip: You can stay out late so long as you can sleep in in the morning. Sleep is GOOD for you and your skin, but don’t we all know that.  🙂

Our gut and our skin are linked. We’ve talked about this a lot on my blog. Smart skin food decisions will make a difference. More on products and habits that promote skin health and prevent signs of aging here.
Happiest of holidays to you all, and see you in the New Year!

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes! I have handpicked some of what I consider to be the best skin care products, and offer them for sale on SkinTour's shop. This is based on my team and I's testing and research at our clinic. Many of the products are in my own regimen. What could be better than using skin care products a dermatologist uses?!
