Is there a difference between prescription “bleaching” creams?
The Triluma is very hard to find right now. We are having the equivalent specially compounded for our patients when we need it. The Epiquin micro is excellent. It doesn’t have the mild antiinflammatory (a mild steroid) in it that helps with the irritation that fairly common with hydroquinone based creams, but that may not bother you.
Renova is helpful usually for pigment problems as long as you are not outside much, use a really great sunscreen and it doesn’t irritate you (good sunscreens). Stop it at least a week before sunny vacations and summer if you are outside frequently.
Vaniqa works quite well but is better suited for those finer, blond (vellus) hairs. It doesn’t work as well on coarse, dark hair if it’s dense. Dr. I
