When is a little itching with a product too much?

Dr. Irwin, I found the vivite night renewal makes me a little itchy, esp around the chin or cheekbones/orbital area. I use vivite hydrating cream before hand. Any suggestions? Dr. Basi

Thank you for asking this – I know others are having this problem.   A tiny bit of itching with this product that goes away after a few minutes and…….. if there’s no redness or irritation from it…. is fine.  Both are excellent products in general – Night Renewal and the Replenish Hydrating Cream.

When SkinMedica bought Vivite, they reformulated it ( to GlyPro Cream) and only changed the percent hydroxy from 20% to 15%.   15% should still be very effective and the slight temporary itch should be better.    I really liked the original name much better!

If a product itches, burns or stings, especially if it persists or gets worse……..means the product should be stopped!!
