Laser hair removal on the face and acne meds.

Hi Dr. Irwin! I get laser hair removal done on my face, and the person who does it said that I can't use my acne medication (Epiduo) for the preceding 5 days before my treatment. I was wondering why. Thank you! -Curious in CA

I have to respectfully diagree with your ??tech, doctor?? on this one.  Epiduo is a combination of adapalene (also in Azalex) and benzoyl peroxide.   Unless you are a very dark skin type V or VI, generally one day is enough in the setting of laser hair removal on the face and acne. 

Check with your doctor again, particularly with the doctor that prescribed your Epiduo – perhaps there’s something in your particular situation that’s unique.
