The main side effect is swelling at the site. The company protocols advise a first treatment with approximately 2 vials. At a recent conference, many of the doctors who were involved in the trials were saying privately that they recommend starting with one vial, even though it slows the response slightly. Reasons – many patients will be understandably angry if the swelling makes them look like a bullfrog for a week or two. We all need to be able to function.
By the second treatment, using 2 vials makes sense because there’s less fat now to become inflamed. The end result is still the same. All had some mild redness and soreness. The couple of cases of nerve damage were temporary and related to the injector injecting into the wrong area.
