I’m 33, have sun damage and some early wrinkles, but really can’t afford downtime. Any options?
I hear you. When you’re young and working…… vacation time is precious and many jobs just are public or social enough that you can’t walk around looking odd.
Here are some thoughts:
- First maximize your products. This is key and at 33 you should see a small difference right away and more in the first 6 months. See my regimen (oops, just realized I need to change this to spring/summer) for the key steps;
- Consider a series of 3-6 microdermabrasions which can be done with no downtime. They will clean our your pores, stimulate circulation and collagen production, help your new products penetrate better;
- Consider a series of 3 more gentle IPLs/photorejuvenation treatments. These reduce brown spots, stimulate collagen and reduce red veins. Do the first one on a Friday just in case you swell a little but most people don’t. The brown spots may look like “coffee grounds” for a week before peeling off but this can usually be covered easily with makeup. Pick your office well though. Many spas offer these but the IPLs are weak and you won’t get much result. Better to go to an established laser center with a dermatologist, if you can.
