Natural looking lips – is it possible with filler?

I have experienced upon occasion that someone will ask if I have had work done on my mouth, saying that they are just familiar with that look. Meanwhile I see these women on these Housewives of Vancouver or Jersey or where ever that look like freaks with their artificial mouths. Is there no product that is fine enough to give a more nature look to the upper lip?

I know exactly what you mean.  I cringe slightly almost every time I go somewhere because there will be a lovely woman with lips that look completely fake. Here’s the problem, it’s not the filler that is the problem!! The problem is the doctors, midlevel providers (PAs and ARNPs) and nurses who are doing the injecting. It is possible to achieve a beautiful natural look with most hyaluronic acid fillers.  By the way, in my opinion and the opinion of many other experts, Radiesse, Sculptra, silicone, and Artefill should never be injected into the lips.

 

As for the Juvederm, Belotero and Restylane families of fillers, they can all be used to create a beautiful, natural look.  It’s just that many times too much is injected, in the wrong places, with no respect for the integrity of the natural lip structure and proportion in the face.  Also key, is using the filler to create the appropriate support around the lips in the whole lower face so the lips fit into a context.  Hope this makes sense.
