Should I massage my filler?
Okay, I’m thinking maybe we had a misunderstanding on this one. The only filler that should be massaged is Sculptra and your doctor will give you specific instructions on this, if you choose this filler.
For all the others, they don’t need to be massaged and shouldn’t be massaged. The placement should be good when you leave the office. We usually tell our patients to wait 7-10 days to let the filler finish developing because they will evolve a bit over a week or so. After that, if there’s a bump, please call your doctor and give her/him the opportunity to look at it and fix it.
Small bruises after filler are normal but if you get a really bad bruise, it’s good to let your doctor know because it may be the first sign of a more serious complication especially if this dark bruise occurs on or around the nose or central forehead.
Hope this helps, Dr. I
