If I’m dry after an IPL or laser procedure, should I use a loofah?

I had IPL 5 days ago - I notice the flaking...should I be patient or can I loofah?? I have only been washing my face fently with my fingertips

In general, after any laser procedure, including the IPL, you want to treat your skin very gently to avoid irritating it while it’s healing.  Even though it doesn’t look like it sometimes, the energy of the laser is working in the different layers of the skin to improve your blood vessels, brown spots, sun damage, etc.   Be patient and follow your post care instructions exactly.  If you have questions, please call your dermatologist since instructions may vary  from office to office also.  I would vote against the loofah at this time!  Dr. I
